ITINARY

Itinary 7 days Tour

Arrival at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Check-in at the hotel. If there is time we will go to the little fishing harbour of Cala Bona where we can photograph the typical fishing boats ‘Llauts’ and ‘the lagune’ if the sea is calm. We will discuss the itinerary of the trip and everyone’s preference. We go for a drink in one of the local bars and that may be a good way to get to know each other a bit better and see what you all expect from your trip.

Breakfast at the hotel. We will pick you up around 9.30 and drive about 25 minutes to the starting point of a walk of about 60 minutes. The beautiful cove at the end of the walk is called ‘Es Caló’. We will walk on a path very near to the shore  with fantastic sea views on one side and the mountains of the natural reserve ‘Parc de levant’ at your other side. This spectacular walk has a photo stop every 20 meters. When we finish our walk, we will go to the medieval village of Capdepera ( 10 minutes driving ) where we will have lunch in a  bar which is very popular with the locals and where they serve fantastic typical Mallorcan food. After lunch and coffee we will go down to the lighthouse of Cala Ratjada where we can make some good scenery shots and maybe see Menorca when the sky is clear.  Drive back to the hotel and some free time to relax. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Breakfast at the hotel. Pick up at 9.30 and first stop at the Mirador, a viewpoint at Costa de los Pinos, a 300 meter high cliff overlooking the sea at the east coast of Mallorca. We take you to Cala Gat, a small beach near to Cala Ratjada where it is perfect for long exposure shots for those who want to. There is a walk from there for 20 minutes over a small path with several photo stops up to ‘ Es Faralló’ which is a huge rock in the sea very near to the coast eroded by the waves of the sea. It is a spectacular place when we have strong northern wind as the waves then just jump over the rocks. We then will drive you to Cala Mesquida where there is a wonderful beach with turquoise coloured water where we will have lunch at the beach bar. After lunch we have a small walk over the boardwalk to the end of the beach where we have some sharp rocks which is a good place for some long exposure if anyone wants to. Dinner  and overnight at the hotel.

After breakfast we take you to the West Coast of Mallorca. This is a longer drive, about 1.5 hours. We bring you to one of the most beautiful mountain villages of the island, Valldemossa. Since the 19th century Valldemossa has been promoted internationally for its outstanding beauty. There are many shops and restaurants and the facades of the houses are beautifully decorated with plants and flower pots. It is a fantastic place for photography. We will make a walk through the village and a coffee stop. For lunch we will go to the neighbour village of Deià. This is an even smaller village at 16 kilometer north from Valldemossa. It is known for its musical and literary residents. The English poet Robert Graves was one of the first foreigners to settle in the village. The village of Deia is encapsulated by the stunning Tramuntana  mountains that give way the the crystal Mediterranean sea. The architecture consists of traditional ‘fincas’ built of stone creating a breathtaking sight against the mountains with an explosion of reds, pinks and oranges. The beautiful beach of Cala Deia is a sheltered shingle and pebble cove with fantastically clear water. Rocky cliffs curve around the bay, making it feel like a hidden paradise. The sea is a wonderful sapphire colour and snorkelling here is excellent as the water is so clear. The beach is served by two excellent Mallorcan restaurants where you can sit and enjoy the spectacular views( open both from May to October). We will walk from Deià village to the Cala in around 15 mins through a picturesque valley with 1000 year old olive trees where you may stop for a longer time as this is a spectacular place for photography! Back to the hotel, dinner and overnight.

We visit the church of Son Servera, one of the only churches without a roof! It is a beautiful place for some architectural photography. Afterwards we drive you in about 15 min. time to a hidden ruin, the Monestir de Santa Maria de Bellpuig where we make a small stop and some photos and then we take you to the natural park of Llevant where you will find yourself in the middle of  a protected area of 1671 hectares with several walks. We will take one of them, a 20 min. walk bringing you  in the middle of the Artà’s mountain range and where you find a little derrelict barn to photograph.Throughout the Park are extensive olive, almond, fig and carob groves. On our way back we will stop near to Artà where we will have the perfect place to have lunch. After lunch we will see the monastery on top of the hill where you will have spectacular views over the east coast of the island and also a great place to photograph these views. At the end of the afternoon we will bring you to the Mallorcan ‘Dark Hedges’, an avenue of pine trees which form an atmospheric tunnel. After the shoot, we bring you back to the hotel to relax and have dinner. Overnight.

We leave after breakfast for some decay photography to Felanitx. This spectacular and abandoned wine cellar, constructed around 1920, was the biggest of the island. It is now a paradise for urbex lovers to make fantastic photographs. After this we will bring you to the Monastery of San Salvador ( 500 m high ) where you will have spectacular views over the south west of the island. It is also a good place for lunch. We will have a coffee on the little square of Felanitx and then spend the rest on a ‘Talayot’. These are Bronze Age forming part of the Talaiotic Culture. They date back to the late second millennium and early first millennium BC. On our way, back to the hotel we will stop in Cala Petita, a wonderful little cove with crystal clear water.

Breakfast, time to relax, transfer back to the airport.

There are alternative days or half days, whenever some of the other days do not suit to all of you, which we will discuss on the first day anyway.
